Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer 2/3 located in our San Diego Rancho Carmel facility!

Responsibilities include:
•    Help define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of responsible programs.
•    Assist with supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of quality policy and procedures within the Quality Management System (QMS) including helping to perform internal audits to assess conformance.
•    Awareness of lessons learned process, facilitation and tools to help leverage lessons of the past for future program success.
•    Assist with the review of practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality.
•    A basic knowledge of interpreting customer technical and MA requirements, and ensure these requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications and product drawings.
•    Familiar with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis, and Problem Solving activities on program-specific, quality system and business system deficiencies.
•    Represent Mission Assurance at various program reviews and review boards including but not limited to Configuration Control Board (CCB), Material Review Board (MRB), Program Management Reviews (PMR), Design/Peer Reviews, Manufacturing/Test Readiness Reviews and Corrective Action Board (CAB).
•    Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place based on the guidance and needs of the team
•    Responsible for developing Basis of Estimates to ensure sufficient Quality oversight on key Development and Sustainment captures and programs.
•    Open to learning new concepts like developing Basis of Estimates, Cost of Quality, FMEA and similar measures designed to help drive improvement.
•    Familiarity with metrics and statistical analysis to help the team to use data to drive improvements.

Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree and 2-3+ years of experience in Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Manufacturing (1+ years of experience with a Master’s degree), or 5+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
•    Familiarity of quality engineering, inspection methods, production control, manufacturing operations, product test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, defect analysis, control of nonconforming material, product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to quality.
•    U.S. citizenship
•    Ability to obtain Secret clearance
•    Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    BS Degree in an engineering discipline.
•    Defense Industry experience in Programs, Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing 
•    Current, active Secret Clearance, or higher or ability to acquire a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance.
 


Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
