Job DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer Software Quality to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Woodland Hills, CA location.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's ProgramQuality Engineering team that is engaged with cutting edge technology on a dynamic portfolio of products to meet our customer’s mission needs.ThePrincipal Engineer Software Quality performs tasks that contribute to the completion of program execution for one or more programs to meet the requirements of the contract(s) and business.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 2 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Ability to read engineering documentation such as contractual standards, program plans, statement of work, requirements, software specs, test plans/procedures and software test reports. 
  • Ability to interpret requirements testability and clarity, software escapes, develop audit plans, and identify critical software non-conformances.
  • Technical expertise including complete understanding of software assurance fundamental engineering principles, practices, and theories.
  • Experience in a Software Mission Assurance field or experience in related field such as systems engineering, software development, or software configuration management.
  • Working understanding of the specific CMMI and AS9100 Standards impacting program performance.
  • Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools (e.g. DOORs, Jira, Confluence).
  • Experience with ISO and AS9100 standards requirements.
  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) experience.
  • The ability and willingness to travel up to 10% as needed to support business needs.
  • Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD secret level

Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
