Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Software Software Engineer based out of Aurora, CO.

What You’ll get to Do: We are looking for a Software Engineer / Architect familiar with C++ and/or Java to help design next generation solutions and to lead an agile development team using modern development practices.  The project is a small R&D effort being developed in support of larger programs within the company.  The team is small and highly focused on the mission while supporting business development efforts. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below. This requisition may be filled at either a Sr. Principal Software Engineer or Staff Software Engineer based on the candidate’s experience.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a current/active Top Secret security clearance and the ability to qualify for an SCI to be considered
  • Bachelor’s degree with 9 + years of software development experience; 7 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD; or 14 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with Agile software development using Java, Python and/or C++ software development in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design and software lifecycles
  • Experience with version control software
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with supporting operational systems
  • Experience with supporting distributed systems
  • Experience with working in Virtualized Environments (VMs, AWS Cloud Instances)
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Current Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly) completed within the last 5 years

Salary Range: $120,000 USD - $180,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
