Come be a part of our mission!Our Northrop Grumman Space Systems Payload & Ground Systems team continues to grow!  We’re seeking a LINUX System Administrator to support our Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and SBIRS Program at the Mission Control Station on Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, Colorado.  LINUX System Administrators are technical professionals who specialize in maintaining and developing LINUX system architecture.  You will be required to maintain multiple computer operating systems, COTS software products, and perform routine software maintenance tasks as assigned by the System Administrator (SA) Team Lead. Knowledge of basic operations and maintenance concepts for various LINUX operating systems is required.  Typical responsibilities include monitoring system processes, searching log files for errors and correcting system performance issues, backing up and restoring files, patching software and operating systems, writing and troubleshooting simple shell scripts, optimizing software and system configurations, documenting problems, maintaining software licenses, and assisting with software updates, system upgrades, and capacity planning.  You will also be expected to conduct OJT and informal training on basic information system design, data flow, and operations.  As this position involves work in a customer owned facility, you must possess excellent communication skills, and maintain professionalism, especially during stressful situations.  This is a day-staff position that may require infrequent after-hour and rotational on-call duties as assigned by the SA Team Lead due to the nature of maintaining 24/7 information systems. This position can be staffed at a level 3 or 4, based on the basic qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications:
  • An active Top Secret required to start
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI
  • Level 3: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science (STEM), or 3 Years with Masters, or 0 Years with PhD.
  • Level 4: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science (STEM), or 7 Years with Masters, or 4 Years with PhD.
  • Security+ certification or better required for IATT Level 2 within 90 days of start
  • Experience with UNIX-based operating system administration experience (i.e., Red Hat, AIX, Solaris, IRIX)
  • Experience with administering authentication systems such as LDAP, TACACS, Active Directory
  • Occasional travel based on business demand required between Aurora, Boulder, & Colorado Springs, CO
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Windows-based operating system administration experience
  • Linux operating system certification (RHCSA, RHCP, Linux+, etc.)
  • Shell scripting or software engineering experience
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, IBM Logical Partitions, etc.)
  • Experience with storage Network attached storage and RAID systems (Dell Unity, VxRails, Hitachi)
  • Network administration experience

Salary Range: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $120,000 USD - $180,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
