Come be a part of our mission!Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking applicants for a position on the Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program as a Principal Systems Engineer. This position will focus on Agile development activities for the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS). This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.What You’ll Get to Do:
  • Support one of the PARCS agile development teams focused on DEVSECOPS solutions
  • Support system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation
  • Generate, review, and update systems engineering documentation and collaborate with radar subject matter experts to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete
  • Provide highly innovative solutions to unusually complex technical problems
  • Support  deployment activities onsite
The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment. They will be a self-starter and efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks. Up to 25% travel may be required.Basic Qualifications:
  • 5 years applicable experience with Bachelors in Science in a relevant STEM discipline from an accredited college; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
  • Technical documentation and analysis experience
  • Familiarity and/or experience in Agile development processes, preferably Kanban and/or Scrum
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Familiarity and/or experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development processes
  • Familiarity and/or experience with real-time operating systems
  • Familiarity and/or experience with emulation/virtualization technologies
  • Familiarity and/or experience developing system descriptive models using UAFP, UPDM, SysML, and/or UML
  • Experience with PTC Integrity Modeler
  • Experience in Requirements Derivation, Traceability, and Management; DOORS or Equivalent Tool Experience
  • Familiarity with ground-based radars, familiarity with phased array radars – Ideally with Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS), PAVE Phased Array Warning System (PAVE PAWS), and the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS) systems.
  • Familiarity with the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) 2.0
  • Familiarity with Object-oriented principles and practices

Salary Range: $95,100 USD - $142,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
