Explore your future and launch your career today.The Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD) within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector seeks a dynamic Product Owner (PO) within our Strategic Staffing Team. The position is a technical manager at the division level, reporting directly to the Division Strategic Staffing Manager. The individual selected for the role will be responsible for the strategic hiring for PGSD, as well as leading and providing support to division staff, business units, operating units, and program managers to enable high performing program execution.This position can be in proximity to Aurora, CO; Baltimore, MD; or Redondo Beach, CA. Other locations will be considered on an individual basis including Virtual Telework. The location is flexible but proximity to our Aurora, CO location is preferred. The selected candidate will:
  • Have responsibility for establishing and maintaining an integrated cadence for hiring and ensuring effective planning and performance of our hiring goals.
  • Join a team of Hiring Managers, Talent Acquisition Business Partners, Sourcers, and Discipline Leads who work collaboratively to enhance efficiency and customer experience to attract and hire talent.
  • Collaborate with the Business Engineering Leads, Operations and Functional Managers and Directors to ensure effective planning and performance of hiring activities.
  • Identify Division focus areas for improvement/streamlining, development and execution of staffing initiatives, monitoring of operational goals and sector-specific objectives, and elimination of non-value-added activities at all levels in the organization
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate success in applying leadership characteristics to achieve sustainable top performance, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. The successful candidate must also possess the ability to balance programmatic needs to deliver results. This person will need to lean forward from a divisional hiring perspective to achieve our hiring goals by rapidly selecting candidates. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, especially at an executive level, and the successful candidate must have demonstrated strong abilities to collaborate and lead virtually as a part of a geographically dispersed team.Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years and a BS in technical/engineering area or 7 years and a MS or 4 years and a PhD with progressive technical experience in an engineering environment accompanied by high proficiency in technical problem solving to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Dynamic, self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to function independently, meet deadlines and achieve commitments
  • Management experience in programs, engineering, operations, or related technical fields
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of Staffing, Engineering Metrics and Training resources, processes, and tools
  • Previous experience effectively working with and/or leading geographically disperse teams
  • Due to the nature of the work Northrop Grumman performs, U.S. citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Workday, Cora PPM, Tableau, SQL, Power BI
  • 2 years of experience in program, operations, or functional management
  • To be successful in this role, the candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be highly collaborative, team oriented, have strong people leadership skills, and be able to effectively multi-task competing priorities and schedules across the Division.
  • Strong NG understanding and proven experience effectively working within and through NG (and/or a similar) corporate culture
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to quickly respond to a variety of demands are essential.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, diverse environment and can adapt to change
  • Demonstrated ability to understand staffing and hiring data; strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively resolve shortfalls.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and visionary with multi-sector knowledge including but not limited to multiple business areas, disciplines, customers, and project types.
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view

This position reports to Aurora, CO, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.

Salary Range: $137,000 USD - $215,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
