Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Level Electronics Engineer to join our Mission Systems sector site in Apopka, FL. This position is to support the design, integration, test, and production of laser and electro-optical systems for handheld, ground, and airborne products.

The successful candidate will possess design, test, and documentation experience in areas of:

  • Analog and digital electronic circuits
  • Circuit modeling and design tools
  • Digital communications and control of sensors and cameras
  • General power supply and mixed signal interface
  • Drawing and Bill of Material (BOM) generation
  • EMI / EMC design and test (MHz to GHz)
  • Familiarity with Vehicle and Aircraft Power Specifications
  • Circuit card layout and hand soldering of components / wires are also desired skills

Candidate must be able to work within a multi-discipline team to support root cause corrective action (RCCA) determinations, generate engineering change notices (ECNs), update models and drawings, and release the appropriate documentation using TeamCenter applications. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical.

Typical Duties:

  • Design and troubleshooting of digital and analog circuit designs for lasers and electro-optics systems including the use of software tools such as PSPICE and Cadence.
  • Generating detail electronic schematics, CCA drawings, and BOM’s for digital and analog circuit designs.
  • EMI / EMC design and test to MIL-STD-461.
  • Generating ECN’s and entering documentation into TeamCenter databases.
  • Hand soldering electrical components and wires.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Level :
• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering plus 5 years engineering experience,
  or M.S. in Electrical Engineering plus 3 years engineering experience
• Electrical design of analog and digital circuits

• Circuit Analysis using software simulation tools such as PSPICE

• Electrical Component Selection and Obsolescence Management

• EMI / EMC design and test experience

• US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

 
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Level:
• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering plus 9 years engineering experience,
  or M.S. in Electrical Engineering plus 7 years engineering experience

• Electrical design of analog and digital circuits

• Circuit Analysis using software simulation tools such as PSPICE

• Electrical Component Selection and Obsolescence Management

• EMI / EMC design and test experience

• US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

 
Preferred Qualificationsl:
• FPGA and Micro-controller circuit design and programming

• FPGA code simulation

• EMI / EMC design and test to MIL-STD-461 specifications

• Test, measurement, and control software experience

• Mathematic and modeling analysis software using tools such as MATLAB, MathCad, and Mathematica

• Experience with Military Vehicle and Aircraft Specifications

• Experience supporting the integration of complex laser and optical-mechanical prototypes

• Experience with TeamCenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications
• Mixed analog, power, and digital signal CCA experience

• Cadence Concept Schematic Capture Experience

• Cadence Allegro Printed Circuit Board Layout Experience

• Experience supporting the integration of complex laser and optical-mechanical prototypes

• Hand soldering and light assembly experience


Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
