Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening within the Test & Evaluation team for an Instrumentation & Test Data Management Manager 3 to join our qualified, diverse individuals. This role will lead a large team of Engineers and Technicians in support of a large-scale capture program. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

This technical and personnel leadership role will be responsible for all aspects of Instrumentation & Test Data Management reporting to the director of the Test & Evaluation (T&E) Integrated Product Team (IPT) for a restricted access program. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.  Candidate must be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, electrical and mechanical design engineers, data management engineers, and integration/test engineers within Northrop Grumman and the Dept. of Defense.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineers from the SIT&E IPT, test pilots, and other program IPT engineers to develop and refine instrumentation and data requirements for advanced labs, ground, and flight test articles.
  • Manage development of instrumentation architectures and plans to meet requirements.
  • Manage development of data processing, storage, and access facilities/systems/tools
  • Interface with Model Based Test & Evaluation engineering to integrate Model Based Engineering principles into the instrumentation and test data management systems that aligns with our corporate and customer digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop long range instrumentation/data implementation, staffing, operations support, and knowledge retention plans
  • Must have strong technical and leadership skills, excellent oral and written communications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree AND 10 years of related professional experience OR a Master of Science degree AND 8 years of related professional experience.
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role or team lead role.
  • Background in Flight Test Instrumentation, System Test, or hardware/electrical design engineering experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access prior to the commencement of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active, In scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance
  • Experience applying principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design and operations of flight and lab test instrumentation
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience applying principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design and operations of test data processing and management with traditional and cloud-based storage
  • Active in-scope Top Secret clearance with current or previous Special Program Access.

Salary Range: $147,700 USD - $221,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
