Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring an Avionics Integration (AV) Engineering Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on the Mission Domain Command and Control (MDC2) IPT. This leadership role is located in Melbourne, FL

The AV Engineering Manager will report to the Mission Systems Products IPT Director and will support the Directors of International and Fleet Sustainment. The AV Manager will report functionally to the Director of Avionics Integration (East). 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a team of over 40 engineers supporting MDC2 development, modernization and sustainment opportunities.  
  • Provides technical insight into subcontractor management teams.
  • Ensures, in cooperation with other engineering disciplines, within and external to the program, that Giver/Receiver relationships are developed to manage interfaces across project activities.
  • Approves AV technical and cost inputs for all new proposals and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Ensures that earned value management (EVM) techniques and other tools are applied to deliver predictable financial results and accept personal accountability for business goals. 
  • Collaborate with other technical leads in a team-oriented environment to achieve program goals. 
  • Ensures that technical, cost, and schedule performance measures are being met with particular focus on Key Performance Parameters and Technical Performance Measures.
  • Meets first time engineering quality and affordability objectives.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and possess effective communication and presentation skills to all levels (individual contributor up to executive leadership). 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military engineering experience. 
  • Must have a strong technical understanding of mission systems (radars, electronic warfare, and communications).
  • Must have experience in requirements definition, derivation, and management.
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Must have experience in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring.
  • Must have experience in planning staffing requirements, EVM techniques, and with supplier management.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) with the ability to attain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance. 
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a STEM related field and/or MBA
  • Understand NGAS Sector Engineering procedures
  • Experience on E-2D, Joint STARS and ALMDS programs 
  • Experience with leading, preparing, reviewing and approving AV technical and cost inputs for proposals and ECPs
  • Experience in collaboration with other technical leads (SEIT, SW, Vehicle and Test) in a team-oriented environment to achieve program goals 
  • Experience on development and sustainment programs

Salary Range: $147,700 USD - $221,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
