Northrop Grumman Global Operations, Mission Excellence organization is seeking a talented Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team.  

 

This position may work remotely with occasional travel to events and meetings.

 

The selected individual must have a servant leader attitude along with a proactive mindset. Self-directed, and result driven team member accustomed to working autonomously and with teams. They will be familiar with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile. Activities will range across full lifecycle development, integration, and test.  Will involve hands-on testing and troubleshooting, root cause/corrective actions, and stepping into other roles when needed. They will assure quality, risk management, customer satisfaction, reliability, and maintainability of software deployment projects, programs, and Agile Release Trains.  

 

The selected candidate will be asked to perform the following: 

  • Provide consultation and guidance to coach software deployment project teams and programs on risk identification, mitigation, and tracking.

  • Understand the requirements of a company policy, standard or process, and determine how best to apply it to a project, or quality/ compliance review recognizing when requirements are not being satisfactorily met and have the courage to challenge.

  • Assess quality performance objectives for programs, projects, or ARTs to provide, review, and validate monthly Quality score for all assigned projects.

  • Audit systems for deficiency identification and correction ensuring that all corrective measures are effective and timely.  

  • Facilitate problem resolution, root cause analysis and operational efficiencies.

  • Partner with Project/Program Leadership to foster effective teaming and continuous improvement

  • Assist with Supplier Performance issues. 

  • Facilitate application of best practices/lessons learned. 


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) related discipline and 5 years of relevant professional experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR Associate’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 9 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong leadership, assertiveness, facilitation, interpersonal and virtual communication skills. 

  • Knowledge of Project Management life-cycle principles.

  • Experienced problem solver comfortable leading process analysis, problem definition, root cause analysis. 

  • Experience in compliance auditing of systems, projects, or processes. 

  • Experience with risk management including maintenance of risk registries. 

  • Experience in Software and IT Infrastructure Quality Assurance.

  • Experience with creating and maintaining process owner documents (plans, procedures, work instructions, training bulletins, templates, workflows, etc.).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or comfort working with senior leaders.

  • Experience in the following areas:  project management, software development, process improvement, data analytics, project management, metrics development, quality assurance, or risk management.

  • ITIL Training/Certification.

  • Scrum Master Training/Certification.

  • Good understanding of software/hardware development and sustainment

  • Six Sigma Trained or Certified.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. 

This position reports to Unknown City, FL, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 6 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
