Northrop Grumman is in need of a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer / Staff Systems Engineer at its Subsystem and Software Sustainment (S&SS) organization in Warner Robins, GA.

Your responsibilities will include:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

This position may be filled as either a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer / Staff Systems Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline

  • Minimum of 9 years of direct relevant experience with B.S degree; Minimum of 7 years of direct relevant experience with Masters degree; Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant experience with PhD.

  • Experience in gathering requirements, leading exercises or demonstrations.

  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)   

  • Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance. 

  • Develop new procedures as required. 

  • Interface with program and customer personnel.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Experience performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline

  • Minimum of 14 years of direct relevant experience with B.S degree; Minimum of 12 years of direct relevant experience with Masters degree; Minimum of 10 years of direct relevant experience with PhD

  • Experience in gathering requirements, leading exercises or demonstrations.

  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)   

  • Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance. 

  • Develop new procedures as required. 

  • Interface with program and customer personnel.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Experience performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge in RADAR systems and concepts

  • Expert knowledge in DSP

  • Experience using LabVIEW

  • Experience using MATLAB

  • Experience working in a fast pace, Agile environment with the ability to work on a cross-functional Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery

  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) principles

  • Experience in Automated Testing Techniques

  • Active Secret Security Clearance


Salary Range: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $134,700 USD - $202,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
