As an integral part of our Mission Modeling, Simulation & Analysis team in Mission Systems Engineering you will be responsible for development, implementing, and understanding modeling and simulation needs as a function of the systems engineering and mission engineering processes across the air, space, land, sea, and cyberspace domains.


Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Use Object Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM) and Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to understanding Concept Definition, CONOPS development, requirements definition and allocation, system and product definition, component (HW and SW) design and implementation, integration & test, verification, validation, and operations and sustainment

  • Accelerate the delivery of sensor capability to our customers through the use of advanced MBSE and agile systems engineering methods

  • Assist with System concept development, elicitation and specification of functional requirements, and decomposition and traceability of those requirements

  • Assist with performance analysis and specification, Architecture Trade Studies, synthesizing and extending architectures

  • Allocate functionality to components and define interfaces, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)

  • Contribute to a Detailed Design Analysis; May also involve test design

  • Utilize modern model-based systems engineering approaches that make extensive use of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) skills; integrate M&S analysis models with descriptive models

  • Communicate technical capabilities and analyses with internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 0 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, or related technical fields.

  • U.S. Citizenship and active Secret DoD clearance is required

  • General understanding of Requirements elicitation and generation.

  • General understanding of Architecture, Interface Definition, and Design.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret DoD Clearance

  • Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields

  • Domain knowledge in RF sensors

  • Knowledge of MBSE and relative methodologies, e.g. OOSEM

  • Experience with physics-based model or simulation development

  • Experience working in an agile development environment

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $81,000 USD - $121,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
