Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking Physicists. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Transformational Technology Business Area, which is focused on developing innovative next generation superconducting electronics (SCE) and advanced computing technologies.

This position requires work onsite at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) facility in Linthicum, Maryland.

This requisition may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer Level based on years of relevant experience and capabilities in the areas listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Must have a Bachelor's in a STEM / relevant field with a minimum 5 years of experience; or Masters' with minimum 3 years; or Ph.D. with 0 years of experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (US citizenship is required for this)
  • Proven skills at tackling/solving complex problems
  • A strong ability to learn new topics quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • A highly motivated self-starter
  • Works well in a collaborative, diverse environment

  • Must have a Bachelor's in a STEM / relevant field with a minimum 9 years of experience; or Masters' with minimum 7 years; or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (US citizenship is required for this)
  • Proven skills at tackling/solving complex problems
  • A strong ability to learn new topics quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • A highly motivated self-starter
  • Works well in a collaborative, diverse environment

Salary Range: $99,800 USD - $149,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $123,800 USD - $185,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
