Our Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Sustaining Engineering & Solutions  (SE&S). SE&S provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-2 Bomber, E-3 Sentry, Airborne Warning and Control System, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.


You will support the Lead Engineer in execution of various program activities, to include design and development of communication, flight controls, navigation, radar, avionics, power and/or electrical systems architecture, components, circuits, and products or aircraft maintenance. The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and products for defense or commercial systems.


  • Eliminating constraints associated with aging aircraft to include:

    • Liaison Engineering

    • Requirements Development

    • First Article Inspection

    • Non-Contact 3D Digital Inspection

    • Troubleshooting

    • Tooling

    • Obsolescence Management and associated Root Cause/Corrective Action 

  • Research trouble reports, develop, design, and test mechanical components, equipment, systems, and products for defense systems using Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications to develop novel solutions to aging aircraft electrical/electronic technical challenges

Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of engineering experience or a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 0 years of engineering experience

  • Must be a US Citizen and have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance upon hire

  • Must be able to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)

  • MIL-HDBK-61, Configuration Management

  • MIL-STD-31000, Technical Data Packages

  • MIL-STD-704, Aircraft Electric Power Characteristics

  • MIL-STD-1587, Material and Process Requirements for Aerospace Weapons Systems

  • MIL-E-7016, Electric Load and Power Source Capacity, Aircraft Analysis of AS50881, Wiring Aerospace Vehicle

  • Experience/working knowledge of the following documents and aerospace engineering applications:

    • MIL-STD-1472, Human Engineering

    • MIL-STD-461G, Requirements for the control of Electromagnetic Interference Characteristics of Subsystems and Equipment

    • MIL-STD-464, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects for Systems

    • MIL-STD-810, Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests

    • MIL-STD-130, Identification Marking of U.S. Military Property

    • SAE AS9017, Control of Aviation Critical Safety Items

    • TO 1-1A-14, Aircraft Electric and Electronic Wiring

    • CAD (NX/SOLIDWORKS, etc.)

    • AS9102

    • DO-160, Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment



Salary Range: $67,400 USD - $101,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $0 USD - $84,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
