Northrop Grumman is one of the industry leaders in Stealth Technology. As such, we are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) platforms.  We are currently looking for experienced Low Observable / Radar Cross Section (RCS) /Survivability Architects to work on exciting and challenging projects.

Essential Duties for Survivability Design Integration:

  • Integrate advanced technologies to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic spectrum.
  • Interact with other Integrated Product Team (IPT) members and suppliers to convey and achieve Survivability requirements; test physical models; use Electromagnetic analysis tools and verification equipment; and test, and integrate specialty materials
  • Oversee LO repair and maintenance techniques and operations, perform LO inspections, and verifications.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to determine how survivability technologies can best be integrated into air-based systems achieving a balanced design and exceeding customer requirements.

Preferred Candidate Will Poses the Following:

  • Experience with electromagnetic signature reduction, RCS design, analysis, and testing
  • Knowledge of Low Observables and RCS performance in operational environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, or NX
  • Ability to use CAE and/or FEA tools (i.e. FMS, Patran, Cubit, etc.)
  • Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, or other highly technical languages
  • Knowledge of and capability with data processing tools, such as Knowbell, Saber, or Pioneer
  • An active U.S. Government issued DoD Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR clearance

Basic Qualifications:

  • A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Secret security clearance or higher is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR clearance
  • Experience in electromagnetics and/or aircraft survivability with an understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials
  • Familiarity with current LO repair and maintenance techniques and operations
  • Proficiency with LO inspection and verification technologies
  • Knowledge with LO material systems and logistical/support required for use in the field
  • Military aircraft maintainer experience
  • An active U.S. Government issued DoD Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR clearance
  • Ability to work independently and as a valuable team member

Salary Range: $67,400 USD - $101,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
