Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector (NGMS) is a leading global provider of secure software-defined, hardware enabled mission systems. NGMS is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer - Lead with the desire to learn new technologies to join our team in San Antonio, TX.

Embedded software engineers at Northrop Grumman use Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices to evolve how we deliver critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter. How You Will Contribute to the Mission:

  • Develop real-time embedded systems using primarily C/C++ across all phases of the software development lifecycle

  • Interface with Systems Engineers to develop flow down software requirements and technical specifications

  • Identifying risks, suggest mitigation, Track defects, Developing resolutions and reporting status

  • Develop complex software solutions, develop and execute unit tests, build verification test plans, track and report test status

  • Conduct reviews of software related products, software designs, and additional technical documents

  • Actively participate as a part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) member in design reviews and technical peer reviews

  • Self-starter with the ability to efficiently operate in a team environment while prioritizing and making recommendations to Technical Leads, as required, to implement task assigned

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate(s) will be required to work onsite at our San Antonio, TX location.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 14 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 12 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 9 years of experience

  • Experience working in C/C++

  • Active U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance or higher and program clearance approval required to start

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency developing real time embedded software

  • Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance

  • Experience in algorithmic application development and optimization

  • Knowledge of Radar, Electronic Warfare, or Space technologies

  • Experience with VxWorks and/or Linux Operating Systems

  • Active DoD "Secret" Clearance (or higher)

Salary Range: $146,300 USD - $219,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
