Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Integration & Test (I&T) Lead (Manager 3) for the Post Boost Attitude Control Module (PBACM) Sub-IPT. This position will be located in either Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL with occasional travel to other hub locations and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.  Learn more about the Sentinel program here.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and direct a team of I&T engineers and technicians in the integration, testing, and deployment of the PBACM element during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of program.
  • Develop, release, and execute test approaches and formal test plans that maximize the utility of the test while meeting the stringent schedule and technical requirements.
  • Serve as the primary interface between the PBACM sub-IPT and both internal and customer test organizations.
  • Track and report on program performance and execution metrics for cost and schedule including Earned Value Management (EVMS).
  • Establish and track progress towards key project milestones in accordance with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Assist in developing and providing status for IPT inputs to the program risk and opportunity management system.

These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related technical experience, or a Masters Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience.
  • 5 years demonstrated experience in mechanical and/or electrical testing for spacecraft or missile systems.
  • 3 years of formal management experience to include performance reviews for direct reports.
  • 2 years of demonstrated Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in writing test plans, test procedures, and test requirement specifications including knowledge in how testing ties back to system engineering requirements.
  • Experience in test hardware design and analysis that includes mechanical integration hardware, electrical test sets, and transportation hardware.
  • Experience working on a test high bay floor with technicians and other engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with launch operations, requirements, and working with range safety organizations.
  • Technical leadership experience, direction and mentoring to other technical employees in the application of scientific principles, tools and techniques to achieve practical end results.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment.
  • Ability to effectively maneuver through political situation and anticipate roadblocks.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction
  • Strong problem-solving skills

This position reports to Roy, UT, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Huntsville, AL, AL, USA.

Salary Range: $134,200 USD - $211,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
