Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems -Propulsions Division is looking for a Principal / Senior Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team at the Bacchus (Magna) UT, Facility.

Description & Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will work in an industrial environment and support solving complex engineering problems.  Will effectively interact with design engineering team and provide support across Factory Value Streams, Materials and Process experts, Process engineering, and Tool Design.

  • Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements, and specifications of the product as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls, statistics, SPC, and quality inspections.

  • Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies/procedures to assure compliance and will serve as liaison between Bacchus Mission Assurance and various other organizations including some government agencies.

  • Work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, statistical process control analyses, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing

Skills and Competencies for Success:

  • Engineering Design, Solid of Mechanics, Design of Experiments, Systems Engineering and Statistics

  • Dimensional Inspection Techniques

  • Application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI/AMSE Y14.5)

  • Microsoft Office Suite

Candidate should have experience in the following areas:

  • Mechanical Design

  • Tooling

  • Computer Aided Design – ie NX, Solidworks, ProE, CAD, other’

  • Demonstrated leadership

  • Demonstrated Customer Coordination

Education/Requirements:

  • Majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

    • Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering preferred

  • Principal Engineer: BS and 5 years’ experience or MS and 3 years’ experience

  • Senior Principal Engineer: BS and 9 years’ experience or MS and 7 years’ experience

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

  • Must be able to pass an ATF Employee Possessor background check


Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
