Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer to join the System Engineering Team (SET). This position can be filled in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Final grade level offered will be based on candidate experience level.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will serve as a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Engineer for the DevStar, Integrated Functional Capability organization.

As a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Engineer, you will set up, maintain, and develop (ongoing) continuous build/integration infrastructure and ensure pipelines are properly defined and performing optimally. You bring a curiosity and understanding of the pipeline's goals and the transactions occurring within them. You will actively interface with DevOps and engineering teams to coordinate and optimize the steps that execute within the pipeline and to bring consistency and best practices in approach, tools, and standards. You will also create and maintain fully automated CI build processes, which include writing builds and deployment scripts.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Develop visibility and metrics for continuous improvement

• Develop, review, and modify CI/CD principles innovatively and iteratively

• Maintain CI/CD tools/platforms

• Develop and maintain Build, Deployment, and Continuous Integration pipeline and systems

• Manage and troubleshoot the CI/CD process including builds, infrastructure, and training

• Deploy new tools and processes for CI/CD

• Integrate Software

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

•Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree and 2 years of experience; 0 years with Masters Degree or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

•Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s Degree; 0 years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

•Experience with software development tools such a Java, Python, etc.

•DevOps tool experience (Jira, Confluence, Git, etc.)

•Active DoD Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

•US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) 

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

•Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible.)

•Experience with developing CI/CD workflows and utilizing tools such as Nexus, Maven, Jira, GitLab, and Release Management

•Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies

•Experience working with Agile methodologies and Agile development tools

•Experience working with multi-domain networks and synchronization across complex platforms

•Ability to work in a dynamic environment

•Security+ or equivalent certification

Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
