Position Summary

This position is to support the Medium Caliber Ammunition Load Assemble and Pack Operation and is responsible for executing capital projects, overseeing large scale mechanical upgrades, and working with process engineering to implement proactive equipment upgrades that improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of all NRE operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and Explosives as an Employee Possessor.
  • Must pass RFAAP badging requirements, including background check and drug screening.

Essential Functions

  • Lead major mechanical design and installation projects with a focus on cost, schedule, and robust design.
  • Create and maintain drawings for all new and existing equipment and layouts.
  • Actively troubleshoot and conceive of unique solutions to persistent manufacturing problems.
  • Develop ideas for capital expenditure projects that will increase process efficiency and decrease manufacturing costs.
  • Work in a team environment and function as a leader in mechanical and design solutions to process engineering problems.
  • Participate on teams to help make necessary improvements and changes to all process related issues in the Operations department.

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions

  • Stand, walk, sit, and climb steps regularly.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to operate a computer.

  • Good computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)

  • Ability to function autonomously, executing to overall business goals and objectives with minimal oversight and within delegated authority.
  • Ability to solve complex problems by evaluating information and data.
  • Commitment to operating safely, with environmental awareness, and with a focus on producing a quality product.

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
