Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Level 3 Power Plant Operator to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals! This position is located on site in Palmdale, CA.

Essential Functions:

  • Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as steam generators and steam turbines, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, air compressors, turbo blowers, electric motors, diesel generators, pumps, heaters, and boilers to provide utilities such as light, heat, or power for buildings and industrial processes
  • Inspects equipment and performs preventive maintenance measures and routine operational adjustments such as lubricating and cleaning filters, motors, and other equipment
  • Records data such as temperatures, pressures, water levels, and voltage and makes any necessary adjustments
  • Other typical job titles include Stationary Engineer and Operating Engineer

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant Power Plant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Able to work 4/10 night shift: Monday through Thursday, 10PM to 8 AM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience with steam and water boilers
  • Experience with chillers and distribution systems
  • Experience with compressed air systems
  • Experience with pumps and seal replacements/repairs

Salary Range: $64,900 USD - $108,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
