Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a full- time Maintenance Plumber 2 to join our team at the Promontory, Utah facility, working directly under the guidance of one or more Journey level pipefitters.

Pipefitters perform many of the same tasks as veteran Pipefitters including, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, as well as new construction of on-plant facilities. The select candidate may perform easier jobs on their own, and act as a helper on more complex jobs while learning the trade. This job will require the successful candidate to work 4-10 hours shifts.

Primary Duties:

  • Demonstrate safe work habits and knowledge of safety rules while performing job functions

  • Ability to listen, learn, follow instructions and conform to local building codes under the supervision of a qualified journeyman pipefitters

  • Follow through on verbal and written work orders as directed by supervision

  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools, use personal protective equipment, and maintain job site safety 

  • Perform a variety of related pipefitter duties at various job sites as required. For example:

    • Troubleshooting and repair of high pressure steam and condensate lines and equipment. 

    • Preforming preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities. 

    • Trouble shooting and repair of industrial process equipment.

    • Installation and piping of new equipment and tooling.   

    • Installation and repairs of underground water and sewer systems.

    • Installation, repair, and plumbing of appliances and fixtures. 

  • Complete designated classroom training on own time and without compensation within the established time period to obtain journeyman certification

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 2 to 4 years of related experience 

  • Successful candidate must be able to obtain a clearance for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA).

  • U.S. citizen 

  • Pass substance abuse screening

Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints.

  • High School or Vocational School courses in shop, mathematics, and drafting 

  • Experience with steam and condensate systems

Salary Range: $47,100 USD - $78,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
