Northrop Grumman is hiring a Maintenance Technician 2 to support our Tactical Space Systems Division located in Dulles, VA.


  • Performs mechanical and or electrical trouble shooting on all equipment

  • Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs manufacturing equipment

  • Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions

  • Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs, both by physical sign-off and digital copy in SharePoint

  • Uses a variety of hand, power, thermal, etc. and test tools and equipment

  • May redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment

  • May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required

  • Maintain list of vendor training, installation, and part procurement contacts

  • Proactively enter part procurement requests in OneNote

  • Provide daily status to work center team

  • After hours maintenance as required (10%) to maximize up-time during daily shifts

  • Travel to procure necessary items or meet with vendors for training (5%)

  • Other duties to support Maintenance Team as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience working in the manufacturing industry as an Electrical / Mechanical  Maintenance Technician

  • Experience in other trades

  • Willingness to learn

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required

  • Natural drive to maintain consistent and complete data entry

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Professional Training or Licenses (Journeyman, Master Electrician, HVAC, etc.)

  • 3 years’ experience working as a maintenance technician

Salary Range: $45,900 USD - $76,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
