Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Business Operations/Compliance Specialist or Senior Principal Supply Chain Business Operations/Compliance Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The individual can be located in Baltimore, MD, Redondo Beach, CA or Aurora, CO with remote work available.

The Global Supply Chain Business Systems and Operations team within the Payload & Ground Systems division (PGSD) supports multiple locations across Maryland, California and Colorado.

The individual is responsible for multifaceted elements of providing visibility and business solutions for Supply Chain. The individual must be able to provide comprehensive business forecasting and establish business solutions related to staffing, material receipts, MRP, Supplier Onboarding, material EACs, overall GSC performance. The individual must be able to coordinate and manage a group of diverse skills, as well as influence others outside his/her specific area of responsibility. The candidate will be required to work closely with the Material Finance community and all business units within the division to assure continuity and consistency in data collection and reporting and with the GSC Systems and Tools group to create and enhance the Supply Chain's tools to meet business objectives. 

What You’ll get to Do:

The GSC Business Systems and Operations team within the Payload & Ground Systems (PGSD) will support the multiple locations across the division.  The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operations Performance – Manage the division performance to KPI’s.  Communicate changes, provide lessons learned, shape targets for division and sector, and develop/track RTG plans at the site and division level.

  • Material Receipt Forecasting – Identify, communicate, and manage baseline target and sensitivities for material receipts by month/quarter/year for the division and BU’s.  Track performance to AOP, coordinate opportunities across sites to balance sales performance at the division level, and communicate division sales goals for the division. The candidate will be required to work closely with the Material Finance community and all business units within the division to assure continuity and consistency in data collection and reporting and with the GSC Systems and Tools group to create and enhance the Supply Chain's tools to meet business objectives

  • Budget - Support aspects of the management, preparation, and execution of annual budget and FPRP, working with the rates and budgets group to assist in variance analysis and linking staffing needs to financial budgets.

  • Operations Strategy – Provide strategic insight and support to accomplish functional goals.  Align closely with Operations site leads to align division strategy with site strategy.  Develop long-term strategies to support growth initiatives for division.

  • Staff Meeting and PresentationsThe individual must be able to coordinate and manage a group of diverse skills, as well as influence others outside his/her specific area of responsibility for creating and maintaining executive presentations. As well as handle, identify special topics for the team, and coordinate inputs monthly.

  • Systems – Assist in system requirements and communication with team members for upcoming conversions, determine impact to business and plan for mitigation. Assist with DTO related activities as necessary. Ensure PGS team has tools needed to do their job

  • Engagement - Individual must use survey results and communicate with team members to ensure continued improvement of team engagement.  

Basic Qualifications:            

  • Band 3 - Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant work experience, Master's Degree with 4+ years of experience

  • Band 4 - Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of relevant work experience, Master's Degree with 8+ years of experience

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to conduct presentations to upper/executive management.

  • Ability to effectively self-manage competing priorities and deadlines while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated effectivity in driving change and continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge of financial management and financial reporting tools/systems.

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree (or currently pursuing) Business, Science, Technology, Engineering or Math.

  • SAP, Excel and Cognos experience

  • Demonstrated experience with cross campus/sector, or multi-discipline, collaboration.

  • Experience in managing multiple projects of various complexity.

This position reports to Baltimore, MD, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $80,100 USD - $123,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $99,200 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
