If so, we want you to join our Team as a Sr. Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Administrator (Remote) by applying your experience in supply chain management, or related fields, to include business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, or manufacturing. This position will be located can be on-site at Sierra Vista, AZ or Grand Forks, ND or support a full-time teleworker.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborates on subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.

  • Owns contractual management for the supplier. Responsible for source selection from contract proposal to execution phases.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users.

  • Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts.

  • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.

  • Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.

  • Manages performance of subcontracts, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.

  • Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.

  • Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded.

  • Manages and develops strategic/key suppliers.

  • Forecasts, reviews and approves supplier payment as needed.

  • Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.

  • Execute teaming agreements and non-disclosure agreements, which may include several parties.

  • Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts.

  • Review procurement packages of peers

  • Mentor, train, and guide more junior teammates

  • Read, interpret, and implement written procedures to maintain compliance

This position will negotiate with both large businesses and small businesses on a variety of complex-type contracts including cost-plus-incentive-fee type. 

This position must have an understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks.  Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.  Able to be creative in finding solutions to resolve issues. 

This position will develop solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.

This position will attend program meetings and may be required to present to groups.  Must be able to work independently and have strong organizational skills.

This position must be knowledgeable of the FAR/DFARS and processes and/or procedures required to be followed in order to be in compliance with FAR/DFARS. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum Education / Experience: At least 14 years of business experience in lieu of degree, OR Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years of business experience; OR Master's Degree with at least 8 years of business experience

  • Experience must be related to subcontracts management, contracts management, proposal price/cost analysis, and/or strategic sourcing. 

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications

  • Ability to receive a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Education / Experience: At least 15 years of business experience in lieu of degree, OR Bachelor's Degree with at least 14 years of business experience; OR Master's Degree with at least 10 years of business experience

  • Experience with SAP

  • Experience in supporting different contract types including cost types and all aspects of contract management from contract award through contract closeout.

This position reports to Emerado, ND, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Sierra Vista, AZ, AZ, USA.


Salary Range: $89,800 USD - $141,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
