Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Principal Human Resources Project Analyst to provide leadership within our Sector Staff Functions. This position drives and leads the planning, facilitation, and execution of various sector human resources initiatives and processes, such as employee engagement, succession planning, metrics / reporting and HRBP support. The HR Project Analyst collaborates with a diverse set of stakeholders and cross-business team members to meet project deliverables. The position may be fully remote or sit at a major NGC site. This position requires up to 5% travel to Northrop Grumman sites.

Specific duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Leading the tracking and execution of sector HR projects and initiatives, driving the communication flow with the appropriate stakeholders (including HR Centers of Excellence, or CoE’s), ensuring project completion, and seeking out / sharing best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Establishing a solid understanding of the business, building and expanding relationships with other project analyst, and creating close partnerships across HR CoE's.
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization and developing solutions in partnership with Sector HR / PAs and key stakeholders.
  • Providing business insight through data analytics, researching and benchmarking to inform and recommend solutions to enable business growth.
  • Leading all HR team projects ensuring accountability and completion.
  • Playing a key change leadership role in the company's transformation by reinforcing a culture of growth and innovation.
  • Partnering with HR team to build leadership depth to support the development and succession planning process.
  • Completing personnel/department change requests.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of HR / project management / data analytics experience – OR – a Master’s degree and 4 years of HR / project management / data analytics experience.
  • Proven experience planning and executing projects to completion.
  • Demonstrated success in the application of HR principles, concepts, policies, and practice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and technology (Workday, Confluence, SharePoint).
  • Aerospace and defense contracting experience.

This position reports to Dulles, VA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 7 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $72,400 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
