Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Information Systems Project Manager (level 4) to join our diverse team of professionals located at Palmdale, CA.

The Sr. Principal Information Systems Project Manager will lead and direct one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations. Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment. Brief high level officials on project status. Keeps current on advances in the field of IT. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Job responsibilities can include but not limited to:

  • Create & manage project plans

  • Define project schedules, allocate resources and monitor progress

  • Align project objectives with company goals, and make sure project team is clear on objectives

  • Deliver and install technology solutions

  • Help project team with the design and development tasks

  • Lead process of issue identification and resolution

  • Manage risk tracking process

  • Monitor and manage scope

  • Manage all documentation

  • Work multiple projects simultaneously

  • Foster partnership with customers/stakeholders/sponsors

  • Present briefings to high level officials

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 9 years of relevant Info Systems Project Management experience; Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience. In lieu of formal education, High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 13 years relevant job experience may be considered.

  • Experience with business & IT strategy

  • Experience with Microsoft Project and project management related software.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays and weekends.

  • Must have an Active Secret Top DoD Security Clearance with last investigation within 6 years and able to maintain.

  • Must be able to obtain Special Program Access within 365 days of submission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) - PMP Certification - ITIL Certification

  • Change Management Processes

  • Agile and Scrum Certification


Salary Range: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
