Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Services, Business Systems Products Portfolio Manufacturing and Logistics group has an opening for a Software Development Manager 2.  The position is responsible for leading a team that researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. Involved in the planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.

Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for direct supervision/management of the staff including conducting performance assessments, staffing, employee development, communication meetings, disciplinary actions, compensation adjustments, other routine personnel issues.  Responsible for providing direction to subordinates utilizing guidelines & general policies.   The position will also have the responsibility to help lead and guide the implementing of agile and product teams as well as the implementation of SAP S4, PEO and iMRO.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Meet business needs by managing the organization to consistently deliver quality solutions on time and within budget and scope

  • Continue the ongoing organizational transformation of implementing Agile, DevSecOps, and automation wherever possible

  • Actively drive the development life cycle from requirements analysis, feasibility estimates, design, code, documentation, testing, implementation, and support

  • Build and manage multi-disciplined software teams and oversee the development processes using industry best practices

  • Design reviews, code reviews, development and mentoring of software development professionals

  • Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in high-pressure environments; excelling at pinpointing and resolving problems in early project stages to avoid cost/time expenses

  • Ensure appropriate security controls are built into all applications

  • Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate technology roadmaps

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 10+ years of IT experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8+ years of IT experience

  • Ability to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while demonstrating a professional attitude

  • Experience leading development and implementation  teams using agile practices

  • Experience leading in a matrixed environment with a virtual team

  • Experience supporting manufacturing and logistics

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems / Manufacturing Operations Management Solutions

  • Experience mentoring junior software developers

  • Experience leading Product Teams

  • Experience implementing Cloud solutions

  • Knowledge and understanding of UX/UI, DevSecOps, and Test Automation.

  • Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work equally well in self-managed and team-based Agile/Scrum projects.

This position reports to Unknown City, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.

Salary Range: $130,500 USD - $195,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
