Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree plus 3 years of relevant experience or 7 years of relevant experience without a degree
  • Experience with VMWare Virtualization Technology
  • Experience with Linux and Windows servers and workstations
  • Ability to author technical documentation, such as use cases, software architectures, system design documents, user manuals, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • System administration experience with Linux and Microsoft operating systems
  • Ability to perform PC and Server hardware and peripheral maintenance and network equipment configuration
  • Current Security + or be able to obtain DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher within a reasonable timeframe from start date.  (reference: http://iase.disa.mil/iawip/Pages/iabaseline.aspx for list of qualified certifications)
  • Possesses active Security Clearance or has ability to get/maintain a clearance
  • Patient, positive, can-do attitude and desire to learn from and educate others
  • Flexible, team player, who takes initiative to identify and complete tasks
  • Ability to work closely with a team as well as independently and unsupervised
  • Attention to detail and mindset for planning, documentation, ensuring quality

    • Centos/Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7,8
    • Bash and PowerShell scripting and automation
    • Red Hat Ansible, Ansible Tower
    • Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Auditing
    • Windows and Linux enterprise application deployment
    • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
    • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Windows Deployment Services
    • VMWare vSphere and Horizon virtualization
    • TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN, DNS configuration
    • Cisco IOS and NX-OS
    • VEEAM, RSync backup
    • Trellix/McAfee Endpoint Security
    • Nagios logging
    • STIG/SCAP compliance, ACAS Tenable.sc
    • Datacenter infrastructure management (server, array, rack, cabling, UPS)
    • Network storage devices, disk-to-disk backup, tape libraries

Program Specifics:

  • Looking for individuals who have experience with virtualized environments.
  • Currently using Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 (moving to 2019) and Red Hat/Centos7 (moving to version 8).
  • Manage complete infrastructure to include switches, cables, servers, desktops, peripheral devices, services such as DNS and AD.
  • Current infrastructure is mostly blade servers with storage arrays.
  • Scripting automation and hardware support for Windows and Linux desktops, VMs, servers, networking, storage, and backups.
  • Ensure the reliability and security of classified data.
  • Our Agile team is currently responsible for maintaining 3 programs both classified and unclassified.
  • Having someone who is flexible and a team player is very important.  We typically work M-F unless we are unable to schedule downtime without impacting the programs (rarely happens).  There is no pager requirement for this environment.

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
