Northrop Grumman is seeking Production Technicians for an internship to hire opportunity. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Rolling Meadows, IL.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Manufacturing and Production Organization. The selected candidate will work in a project environment where he/she will interact with users, customers, and other developers to define the Mission Systems procedures for the quality of production and manufacturing operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Timely movement of hardware between work cells and induction of field hardware by capturing condition status and updating the system of record.
• Utilize SAP and other internal tracking systems to manage all production and repair orders that support Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• Collaborate with multiple organizations to ensure daily priorities support weekly/monthly sales plan. Including Supervisors, Engineering, Operations, Program management, Technicians, Operators, Mission Assurance, and
Stockroom personnel ensuring that the daily priorities support weekly/monthly sales plan.
• Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments and or work cells.
• Assists in determining shortages, and initiate action to correct these deficiencies.
• Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert leadership regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an associate degree from an accredited college/university
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • Be majoring in Suppl Chain or any other closely related discipline
  • Be available to work part-time (20 - 40 hours per week) for 12 weeks during the fall/spring semesters  
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment 
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment

Intern Pay Range:

  • Associate’s: $17.00 to $18.50

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates and standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.

Salary Range: $17 USD - $19 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
