Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Production Planner & Scheduler or Principal Production Planner & Scheduler based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. The Production Planner & Scheduler provides the required oversight to lead Production Control activity in support of multiple programs/product lines within a business unit under the Navigation, Targeting and Survivability (NT&S) Division in the Mission Systems Sector. As a key lead within the Production Control organization He/She/They will provide support for a high performing team and will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and reporting on the progress of program performance as it relates to production schedules.  Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult issues associated with specific projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and current schedules for focus programs/product lines detailing the start and complete dates for work center activities
  • Plan, prepare, disseminate, and communicate program schedules at different levels for management review and decision-making capability
  • Use ERP system to initiate and maintain manufacturing orders for current and future work supporting Global Survivability Programs (GSP) manufacturing
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure readiness is maintained and production starts are achieved
  • Serve as a Production Control lead and collaborate with Operations Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure production has all required inputs
  • Provide day-to-day support for individual Production Controllers and assist with training needs

Basic Qualifications:

Production Planner & Scheduler

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of manufacturing or planning work experience, or Master’s degree and 1 years of work experience. Note: an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability, developing solutions to problems of various scope and complexity
  • Knowledge of production scheduling process
  • Knowledge of Production Control function
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated understanding of MRP Systems

Principal Production Planner & Scheduler

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of manufacturing or planning work experience, or Master’s degree and 4 years of work experience. Note: an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability, developing solutions to complex problems
  • Advanced knowledge of production scheduling process and principles
  • Knowledge of Production Control function and complete understanding of interrelationships with Integrated Product Teams (IPT)
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated advanced understanding of MRP Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience in scheduling application
  • SAP ERP system experience (manufacturing execution and reporting)
  • Understanding of sustainment product life cycle and tracking systems (i.e., GOLDesp)

MANUMS


Salary Range: $60,900 USD - $91,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $75,000 USD - $112,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
