JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Successful candidate will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and training a team of Quality Control Technicians and capable of performing a wide range of quality assessments tasks supporting the team.  Technician Team Supervisor will be responsible for the work performed by the team in assuring quality in process products built on site and to ensure products meet the company’s quality standards and support the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.  Job responsibilities will include:

  • Direct accountability for activities and actions of team members under their responsibility, including input on performance reviews and staffing decisions

  • Leading by example with day-to-day support activities and assure work team complies with all applicable safety and quality requirements and company policies/procedures

  • Develop team members through mentoring and on-the-job training

  • Proactively assume ownership including cleanliness and working condition of facility, equipment, and tooling in area of responsibility and take necessary action when issues encountered, contact help-chain members as required to resolve

  • Creation of area and job specific training documents and standard work

  • Supporting and advancing a strong safety and improvement culture

  • Interfacing with numerous engineering, manufacturing and quality teams and customers

  • Must be able to support off-shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime work as needed

  • Will require travel to support supervisory role at Promontory and Clearfield facilities and occasionally travel to other sites, including Bacchus & KSC.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Must have technical and in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and knowledgeable in QA functions across all Propulsion Systems locations

  • Knowledge in dealing with and handling energetic materials and associated standards/protocols

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to plan and organize work to accomplish assigned tasks while working multiple programs/projects

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause and corrective action analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team project and organize data inputs from multiple sources

  • Skilled in shop mathematical applications

  • Proficient in use of measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers to perform dimensional inspection

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and specifications utilizing GD&T standards

  • Organized documentation and reporting skills

  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge working in ESI planning applications, SmartSolve nonconformance application, Costpoint ERP/MRP and other internal systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Advanced GD&T knowledge

  • CMM operator/programmer

  • Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry aerospace standards

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Minimum two years of experience in a Quality Control/Inspection role

  • Minimum of one year experience in a leadership role or equivalent informal leadership, supervisory or mentor role


Salary Range: $68,900 USD - $114,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
