Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, B-2 PDM, Palmdale Ca, has an opening for Senior Principal System Test Engineer- Specializing in B-2 Aircraft Ground and Flight Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation (SIT&E) organization.

In this SIT&E Ground/Flight Operations role you will be supporting the B-2 aircraft systems Acceptance Testing and qualification within a Maintenance and Manufacturing environment. Duties will consist of assisting the Test Conductors with test planning and preparation, scheduling of test events, and leading the execution of test procedures. In this role you will ensure test ATP’s are configured and ready to test. Contributing to test readiness reviews, conducting briefings, performing acceptance testing and integration events.

Key responsibilities include:
•    Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
•    Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for completing systems.
•    Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program.
•    Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
•    Assist with coordination of supporting organizations in executing and planning a test program
•    Provide support for post-test data processing and analysis as required to support test objectives.
•    Provide first line engineering support for maintenance, repairs, and modifications to system under test.


Analyze and interpret test data; provide recommendations to Engineering and Leadership for alternate means of compliance as required; support development and execution of test objectives.

Candidate must have excellent communication skills required, must work well in a team environment, and must work independently to solve a variety of complex problems.

Basic Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant professional/military experience OR Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional/military experience OR 4 years of experience with a PhD OR 9 years of relevant professional/military experience in lieu of degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of relevant professional/military experience OR Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant professional/military experience OR 4 years of experience with a PhD OR 13 years of relevant professional/military experience in lieu of degree.
  • Have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Special Programs Access (SAP).
  • Experience in Aircraft Ground Test and Operations.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending schematic diagrams.
  • Experienced using Test Equipment, such as digital multimeters, O-scopes, power supplies, etc.
  • Experienced with Electronic Principles, MIL STD protocol for 1553, 429, and 1394 busses.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment, Test Stations, or Lab Operations.
  • Experience with software deployments and deployments tools.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance, with an investigation date within the past 6 years.

Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
