If so, our Defense Systems (NGDS) wants you to join our team as a Mission Assurance Manager 2. This is position is full time, on-site located in Lake Charles, LA. You will be supporting our P-3 Customs and Border Protection Program.Your duties include, but not limited to:
  • Responsible for quality regarding program execution, personnel, processes and infrastructure.
  • Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs.
  • Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission success.
  •  Represent Mission Assurance to program leadership and internal and external customers.
  • Interfaces with the program to ensure adequate staffing and support.
  • Establishes and implements strategies and tactics to drive affordability and long-term improvement.
  • Interacts closely with production leadership on a daily basis. 
  • Drives affordability through first time quality and highly effective root cause and corrective actions. 
  • Directs and manages all cost, schedule and technical performance requirements that are levied by the program and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones
  • Responsible and accountable for strategy, planning, and execution of all site quality processes and activities. 
  • Perform as the communication and management focal point to the program for the Mission Assurance organization.
  • Lead quality execution and accountable for labor estimates, resource planning, and assure identification of trends and actions to reduce defects and rework.
  • Responsible to manage to establish metrics in accordance with Mission Assurance requirements and in consideration of Program objectives.
  • Interface with and brief executive leadership and customers as required on issues, action plans, and requested content.


Basic Qualification

  • A High School diploma and a minimum of 9 yrs of Mission Assurance experience within the aircraft, aerospace or manufacturing industries; A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; OR Master's degree with 3 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in aircraft, aerospace, or manufacturing industries may also be considered.
  • At least 2 years' experience in leading teams of 10-20 people and established clear expectations and inspired commitment
  • Proficiency in root cause and corrective action processes
  • Advanced level of understanding of complex quality policies, procedures, and governmental regulations, including AS9100
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Active DOD Secret Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as specified by the business
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Active DHS CBP SS Background Investigation within a reasonable amount of time as specified by the business
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills
  • Airframe & Power Plant Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance that has been granted or renewed in the past 6 years
  • Active DHS CBP SS Background Investigation
  • 10+ years P-3 Orion experience
  • Experience in utilizing Agile methodology and tools
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt certification to help drive continuous improvement
  • Experience working with Government agencies
  • Experience with trend data development and analysis
  • Contract compliance and auditing experience

Salary Range: $112,700 USD - $169,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
