Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Non-Destructive Test Technician 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT.

Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) on aircraft engines or components. Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, laser shearography, and magnetic particle. Requires certifications in non-destructive testing in accordance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 0 years related experience
  • UT Level 1 classroom experience in operating Automated Ultra Sonic Phased Array Immersion machines in progress or completed
  • Experience with NAS 410 requirements

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
    • Composite experience and/or certification preferred
    • Experience with Hand Held Pulse Echo Units (USM GO, USN 60)
    • Experience with specification and drawing interpretations
    • Background in NDT


    Salary Range: $36,400 USD - $60,600 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
