Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Metrology Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT and is in support of the B-21 Program, be a part of this historic program that is critical to our nation's defense.

The Metrology Engineer will work with a team that will represent the program in Production Operations and Design IPTs as the focal for delivering guidance for technical changes to the nominal that improve repeatability, optimizes variability, and reduces costs within aggressive process capabilities. They will conceptualize and implement dimensional solutions that meet design, manufacturing, cost and quality objectives. These solutions will be created and optimized through the execution of variation reduction and dimensional sensitivity simulations to determine optimal results.

The Metrology Engineer will be responsible for supporting manufacturing activities to validate/analyze as-built data, participate in problem resolution, confirm that the dimensional management strategy meets program objectives.

Northrop Grumman supports a 9/80 work schedule with limited occasional travel to support company initiatives and program requirements.

Level 3 Principal Metrology Engineer

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science and 5 years of relevant work experience; or a Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain special program access clearance
  • Experience in performing tolerance stack-up analysis on production scale assemblies.
  • Experience with GD&T and application of ASME Y14.5-2009
  • Experience with 3D modeling software
  • Experience with PLM software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NX 3D modeling software
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM software
  • Experience with Verisurf, Spatial Analyzer or equivalent
  • Practical understanding of composite structures
  • General understanding of Aerospace practices, policies, and procedures

Level 4 Sr. Principal Metrology Engineer

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science and 9 years of relevant work experience; or a Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD and 4 years of relevant work experience; or 13 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain special program access clearance
  • Experience in performing tolerance stack-up analysis on production scale assemblies.
  • Experience with GD&T and application of ASME Y14.5-2009
  • Experience with 3D modeling software
  • Experience with PLM software

Preferred Qualifications:

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $98,700 USD - $148,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
