Northrop Grumman Payload & Ground Systems in Azusa, CA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team. This is a union represented bargaining unit position.


Plans sequence of operations and methods used to install, modify, repair and maintain the electrical components of the plant electrical system to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting and facilities in accordance with codes, regulations and safety specifications.


Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains all plant electrical systems, building facilities and equipment including their testing, repair and/or modification using required test equipment. Locates and corrects any electrical trouble involving generators, motors, transformers, switches, controls, fixtures, circuit breakers and other electrical installations. Splices, tapes and insulates wire. Replaces fuses, checks and repairs switch gear and circuit breakers, troubleshoots and repairs, disconnects and de-energizes loaded circuits in accordance with applicable safety procedures.

Installs conduit and runs power supply to plant electrically operated or controlled equipment. Repairs electro-mechanical mechanisms associated with the electrical work described herein. Does all work per NEC and LA County code. Does mechanical operations necessary to the dismantling, disassembly, repairs and installation of electrical units. Performs preventive maintenance to department standards as required. Works from blueprints, schematics, circuit diagrams, and verbal and or written instructions. Uses assorted hand and power tools and test equipment including volt-ammeters, on-line recorders, amp probes, phase meters and ohmmeters. Maintains required logs, provides documentation and proper recording of Maintenance Department records including preventive maintenance. Observes company, OSHA and Safety regulations and follows good housekeeping practices. Performs related and incidental work assignments as required. Must be physically capable of working in high places, from ladders, etc. Must be able to follow exacting written and verbal instructions.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • College or trade school with a minimum of thirty (30) units in electrical theory or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of related electrical maintenance experience.
  • Requires ability to work with all voltage and current levels.
  • Knowledge of city, county and state electrical code requirements.
  • Requires working knowledge of all standard electrical material, standard tools of the trade.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of electronics as related to electrical controls.
  • Must be computer literate to the extent required to perform job functions and proper recording and documentation of maintenance records.
  • Must obtain required certifications necessary to perform job tasks.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in SAP (ERP system)
  • Current & active DoD security clearance

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
