Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Aircraft Painter to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.

The Aircraft Painter will be expected to:

  • Paint aircraft interior, exterior and piece parts.

  • Prepare for painting by masking, stripping, washing aircraft sections and components.

  • Blend and mix paints, inks, and coatings to proper spraying consistency.

  • Perform detail and touch-ups.

  • Sets-up and coordinates processes for painting production parts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED and minimum 6 years of painting experience

  • Prior experience painting and preparing surfaces or parts for paint.

  • Must have the ability to pass a special medical/respiratory exam.

  • Must have the ability to be certified for half as well as full face respirator.

  • Must be able to perform repetitive physical activity such as: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and working overhead.

  • Must be able and willing to work any shift/schedule.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime when needed.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top-Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. US citizen required for clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and minimum 13 years of painting experience.

  • Previous F-35 or F/A -18 experience.

  • Prior aircraft painting experience (minimum 10 years or more)


Salary Range: $19 USD - $37 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
