Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Assembler – Electrical to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.

In this role, the Aircraft Assembler – Electrical will be expected to:

  • Assembly, installation, and rework of airplane electrical and electronic parts, assemblies, and portions of systems of preproduction, developmental, or production aircraft.

  • Determine locations, identify, and relationship of parts from production blueprints, wiring diagrams and adequate information to assemble, install, rework and adjust airplane electrical and electronic parts, assemblies and portions of systems.

  • Follows established procedures and work to close tolerance.

  • Works with jigs, fixtures, and tooling or without them when work operations do not require their use. - Improvises simple production aids such as holding clamps to assist in accomplishing assemble or installation operations.

  • Installs, connects and solders such items as rigid and flexible conduit boxes, junction boxes, switches, panels, clips, and electrical or electronic wiring, assemblies, equipment and instruments.

  • Hooks up control panels, electrical boxes, and wiring circuits including routine continuity checking of installed electrical and electronic wiring. Spot ties, ties in and splices wires as required: work excludes integral alteration of electronic units.

  • Perform such work in other fields as is necessary to complete assignments.

  • Use blueprints and production illustrations to obtain easily identified reference information and process and material callouts.

  • May work with the assistance of lower classified employees; may assist higher classified workers on occasion.

  • May direct and train other employees as assigned.

  • Perform pickup, repair and rework as necessary where the type and kind of work is within the level of difficult required to perform the regular assignments of the classification.

  • Use simple blueprints and schematics. Use arithmetic involving decimals and fractions.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Must have minimum 2 years related mechanical experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • 3 or more years related systems (Fuel, Hydraulic, ECS, Electrical) experience.


Salary Range: $19 USD - $37 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
