Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Space Module Specialist B to join its organization. This position is located in Linthicum, Maryland.

Perform assembly operations necessary for build-up of completed electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.

  • Working from pictorial sketches, detailed military and NG specifications, detailed engineers instructions, and written and oral instructions perform the following operations on both production and experimental hardware.

  • Alignment and Mounting – assemble plates, carriers, and components in designated order applying adhesives in proper amounts and locations, maintaining specified dimensions.  Mix special adhesives material in stated amounts.

  • Perform construction and wiring of electrical circuits working from drawings, schematics, oral and written instructions and/or past experience.

  • Soldering – Perform soldering operations requiring precise connections.

  • Visually check assemblies after each operation to verify process and detect damage an submit for quality check.

  • Make indicated repairs such as adding, removing/replacing parts, perform torque operations and epoxy/RTV operations.

  • Perform various mechanical assembly operations such as chassis assembly, lead forming and tooling assembly.

This is an SEA Union represented position on the 2nd shift.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or recognized equivalent.

  • Must possess a minimum of (6) college credits in a STEM program such as chemistry or physics, computer science, or a related technical field.  Military or electronic training equivalent will be accepted.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.  College or military coursework in a related technical field may be substituted for experience.
