Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Project Manager based out of our San Diego (Rancho Carmel/Spectrum Technology Center locations).

The CAM/OPM (Control Account Manager / Operations Project Manager)  is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of control account budgets, schedules, scope and technical performance measurement. Responsible for all manufacturing efforts of project execution, cost and schedule with development hardware through transition to production and sustainment.

The chosen candidate will manage to a line of balance, oversee and/or guide root cause and corrective actions to closure. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. The candidate will be responsible for interfacing with technical leadership, program management, engineering, production control, global supply chain, and production supervisors to ensure hardware modules are built within cost and budget while meeting operation build schedules.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4 (Sr Principal):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7 years relevant work experience, or 5 years with a Master’s degree 
  • Must have experience with project planning, scheduling and cost performance / Earned Value Management
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Experience or Financial Forecasting/Financial Analysis

Preferred for Level 4 Qualifications:

  • Experience in Baselining new projects/contracts based on scope/schedule autonomously
  • Financial analysis experience in variance analysis, program estimates at complete & general cost analysis
  • Material Resource Planning or Enterprise Resource Planning knowledge with understanding of supply chain process / Material MRP
  • Experience in EVMS Audit / Compliance Interviews (ex DCMA/DCAA/Internal Audit)
  • Experience with AGILE project management software (e.g., Atlassian Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket, Microsoft Azure DevOps).
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement techniques (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma)
  • Project Management certification

Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
