Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Manager Programs, 2, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL and will support a restricted program.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a team of multi-disciplinary functions, enabling them to successfully execute and implement a key program initiative.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and direct assistance as necessary to enable and energize the team members in the achievement of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Providing strategies and direction of all technical areas within the scope of the project.
  • Communicates program vision across multiple tasks to ensure outstanding tactical and operational execution of the program.
  • Assist with quality, innovation, resource management, etc., to drive efficiencies while demonstrating compliance with corporate management standards.
  • Ensures senior management is engaged and familiar with task order area direction.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for program activities while cultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop opportunities
  • Delivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders
  • Establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization
  • Develop sound stakeholder relationships and build a culture of reliable high performance within the team.
  • Plan, execute, and verify process improvement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 7 years’ experience, 5 years with Master’s Degree or a high school diploma and nine (11) years of relevant experience
  • 2 years of demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
  • 2 years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead or as part of integrated program team member.
  • Must be able to exercise influence and lead team to success
  • Ability to make independent decisions, be self-motivated, possess excellent communications skills, detail-oriented, and team player
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees, management and customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing internal relationships, prioritization, and delegation.
  • Experience with CAM role
  • Experience with EVMS
  • Experience with Technical Data Package development
  • Microsoft Office Suite Experience including Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Prior experience in System Engineering and IT infrastructure.
  • Previous experience in IT network procedures and best practices; experience with network challenges associated with systems integration, including COTS integration, capacity analysis and system architecture design

Salary range: $123,900 - $185,900

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
