The Project Manager will work within the Aircraft Survivability (ACS) Business Unit of the Land & Avionics C4ISR Division.  The Project Manager will report directly to the Manger, Business Operations and support the Business Unit in a variety of Project Management roles and responsibilities. This position allows for a hybrid work arrangement, but will require occasional on-site work as business dictates.

This Project Management position will be immersed in all phases of projects from inception through completion and must be a strong and versatile candidate with a high degree of motivation for developing a multi-disciplinary perspective and skill set.  This individual will serve as liaison between program management, functional teams, project teams, and line management. The individual will be a key contributor to the completion of organizational projects and goals by developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving. Position includes both project management (technical, financial and schedule) for execution of on-going projects as well as support to new business capture for the Aircraft Survivability Business Unit.

Primary responsibilities for the Project Manager will include but are not limited to:

  • Capital and facilities project management
  • Acting as Point of Contact (POC) for project review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Establishing milestones and monitoring adherence to master plans and schedules, identifying project problems and developing solutions such as allocation of resources
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and management of OU expenses
  • Preparation of data-based business cases for Vice President
  • Preparation of metrics and internal progress reports
  • Improvements to existing business systems and tools
  • Business unit process improvement initiatives
  • Interdepartmental coordination and other special projects
  • Support for IPRS process adherence and generation for the BU
  • Support coordination and generation of the monthly Business Unit Review
  • NCTA project coordination support as needed, planning, and tracking
  • Various other tasks and objectives as in support of the Program Management team and the Business Unit Vice President

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of related academic and professional experience Or Master’s Degree and 4 years of related experience.  Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of management and individual contributors. Demonstrated success in leading teams with or without direct authority. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Analytical thinking, detailed planning ability. Ability to travel domestically. U.S citizen and ability to obtain US Government Secret clearance.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience supporting Electro-Optical / Infrared (EO/IR) products and programs SAP Proficiency, Financial planning and/or CAM experience. Working knowledge of SharePoint, Experience with business case analysis. Prior working experience working with Facilities and/or experience managing Capital projects


Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
