Northrop Grumman, Mission Systems is looking for a Program Manager to support the tremendous amount of growth within the Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) business unit. Reporting directly to the Portfolio Manager of EWS Advanced Capabilities, the Program Manager, Electronic Warfare (M1) will own profit and loss (P&L) for various EW Development programs. This newly created position will be responsible for delivering state of the art RF Electronic Warfare systems and capabilities across domestic and international customers. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award.

Program Managers are responsible for the coordination and management of all phases of execution, from inception (proposal development) through completion (contract closeout). Success in this position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining and fostering effective communication. The candidate must be able to lead a cross-functional organization, maintaining continuous alignment with customers and suppliers. Finally, the preferred candidate will be a self-motivated, quick learner with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and successful project execution.

Primary responsibilities of the Program Manager, Electronic Warfare (M1) will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading cross-functional technical and non-technical teams through program completion
  • Maintaining responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Negotiation of schedule, payment, and other key contract terms and conditions
  • Proposal development and capture of follow-on business
  • Program reviews across various levels of leadership both internal and external
  • Development of customer relationships and cultivation of customer intimacy

This position is located within the exciting Greater Chicago Area and can be considered for a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a fixed percentage of time on site.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and execution of a variety of proposal and contract types (FFP, CPFF)
  • Sourcing/Supply Chain Management experience that includes strategic planning
  • Direct Customer Interface Experience
  • Secret clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances, such as Special Access Requirements
  • A technical background or demonstration of ability to execute complex projects
  • Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience
  • Project Management Certification (PMP)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Prior Project or Program Management experience, ideally supporting DoD contracts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within cost, schedule, and technical requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success aligning cross-functional teams and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders or customers
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
  • The ability to establish and apply a technical performance baseline to monitor and assess program status against key performance indicators
  • The ability to quickly identify and resolve issues with strategic solutions or process improvements that support long-term objectives
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years’, or Master’s and 3 years’ of relevant experience will be required for consideration

Salary Range: $117,600 USD - $176,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
