Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking to hire a Mission Operations Manager to be based in Middle River, Maryland.

Work on pioneering projects that use innovation and creativity to solve complex problems. 

Our focus is the successful delivery of projects to our customers, and you will be responsible for enabling the conditions required for the business unit to deliver its business effectively and efficiently. As a part of the leadership team, you’ll work collaboratively with programs and shared services across the organization to facilitate smooth running operations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure key operating processes for deployed aviation missions are clearly defined and achieve optimum performance
  • Responsible for establishing and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to allow the leadership team to monitor deployed system performance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that customer services requirements and mission taskings are well defined and optimized for deployed asset collection.  Coordinate operations with collections managers, military headquarters and supported units.  Ensure CONUS support facilities are integrated into deployed operations.
  • Accountable for the management and delivery mission requirements at the PMO level and regularly interface with customer.
  • Deliverer presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders.

Your Experience:

  • At least five years management experience within the defense and security fields within the engineering or program management domains
  • A proven leader with experience of influencing peers and subordinates.
  • At least two years operational experience with aviation assets deployed to support USG customers.
  • Excellent communication skills, so you can provide clear and concise messaging both externally to customers and internally within Northrop Grumman.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 10 years experience, or Master’s and/or 8 years experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries; or in lieu of degree 14 years of required experience
  • Must have active Secret Clearance with ability to gain TS/SCI
  • The ability to travel and work from austere field locations to include foreign locations, to include deployments for up to two months

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as systems engineer with C5ISR technology to include modern passive and active airborne sensors, datalinks and communications systems
  • Military deployed experience within the aviation, intelligence, combat arms or special forces occupational specialties
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Former program management experience
  • Army/joint operations or collections planning experience

    Salary Range: $163,200 USD - $244,800 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
