Our Defense Systems Sector is seeking an Associate Project Management to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS). LSMS provides sustainment support for various US Air Force and foreign military aircraft and systems. The LSMS team provides engineering and logistical support to the warfighter to help solve complex obsolescence and sustainment problems that are adversely impacting mission capability.

This Associate Project Management position will support Program/Project Managers who lead large projects within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.  Tasks include assistance with technical planning, requirements development, tracking, system integration, scheduling, conference setup and hosting, acts as the team scribe and delivers conference minutes, etc. The position requires the individual to work directly with Responsible Engineers, Project Leaders, and Managers to execute/manage cost, schedule, and performance on highly technical projects that may span months and years in duration.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects.  Serves as the liaison between program/project managers, other team members, contract labor, Subcontractors, and Support Staff; Providing proactive and reactive support to other Project Management employees, Project Engineers, Logisticians, and Managers on numerous different Engineering Projects

  • Reviewing/tracking status of projects/tasks, and budgets; managing schedules; preparing conference (i.e., meetings) agendas, presentation material (e.g., capture, collect, and compile data and create slides and other materials covering relevant conference topics), formal meeting minutes; development of formal status reports

  • Tracking/managing Contractual deliveries to the Customer, between Sectors (within NGC), and to/from Subcontractors; staying ahead of projected deliveries to ensure they are provided/received on-time or early

  • Participating in contractual and technical meetings and engineering reviews; taking detailed notes to facilitate creation of detailed/technically complex (Customer Deliverable-quality) meeting minutes

  • Capturing and managing Action Items to completion and/or close

  • Assessing project issues/problems and developing/implementing associated resolutions to meet productivity, quality, budget, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives

  • Working directly with project managers, line managers, Subcontractors, and clients/customers to develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and intervention methods/tools for problem solving

  • Supporting new business development, proposal work, new contract capture planning, and short and long-range strategic planning

  • Developing/establishing positive, professional, customer relationships and a resultant high level of customer satisfaction

  • Developing, maintaining, and adhering to Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)

  • Using Microsoft (MS) Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and MS Project

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of project management related experience

  • Must be a US Citizen and have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with multiple levels of the organization (e.g., managers and other employees) and possess good presentation skills  

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)

  • (Moderate level of experience) working with Groups/Teams, individuals, and Support/Administrative staff

  • (Entry level of experience) with Risk Management actions, development/tracking/updating of Return-to-Green (RTG) plans, and scheduling cross functional activities

  • (Knowledge of) Earned Value Management processes/systems

  • Desire to work with Air Force customers and aerospace industry personnel

  • (Entry level of experience) using various Web applications/Software programs like MS SharePoint, MS Project, Teamcenter, Cradle, etc.

  • Ability, once acclimated, to perform tasks semi-autonomously with marginal oversight & supervision

  • Effectively manage a balance of regularly scheduled work and tasks as well as proving support for urgent short notice tasks and events

Salary Range: $46,100 USD - $69,100 USD
Salary Range 2: $0 USD - $57,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
