Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Project Management (Level 2) and/or Principal Project Management (Level 3) to join the Global Supply Chain Engineering Team of qualified, diverse individuals.

This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program as part of the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division Supplier Management Team Center of Excellence (COE). Learn more about the GBSD program here


The Team

The Supplier Management Team (SMT) Center of Excellence (COE) supports a dynamic cross functional team managing major supplier efforts by providing Project Management leadership and direction in support of multi-million-dollar projects. 

The Role

This high visibility position requires a motivated, self-starter that can manage and oversee the operational aspects of the SMT COE and support ongoing efforts to successfully ensure that our supply base has the tools they need to perform and support our vital mission space. This position will serve as a liaison between the major suppliers, IT Operations, Security, and multiple internal and external organizations.

This position requires excellent interpersonal skills to lead efforts in response to program customer product needs and concerns.  The Project Manager should be able to readily apply process and project management fundamentals to creatively solve problems and learn quickly while managing their projects independently. The Project Manager will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of SMT supplier tool and account access and ensuring resolution of system access issues.

Candidate will be expected to:

  • Work effectively across multiple functional organizations to drive solutions for our activities in support of Space related missions.
  • Operate in a highly organized, detail oriented fashion with demonstrated abilities to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess ability to work both independently and as a team player and must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with varying levels of program customers and functional organization leadership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a liaison providing critical integration functions between multiple major suppliers, the SMT COE, and other internal organizations.
  • Collaborate across multiple functions within the program to support supplier onboarding activities.
  • Ensure suppliers have access to the appropriate software tools and support tool utilization, software license requirements/tracking, and other related supplier onboarding tasks.
  • Support the supplier users with Personnel Access Requests (PARs).
  • Work closely with end users of the data to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
  • Lead or participate in facilitation sessions to gather requirements and builds logical models and compositions for data entry, archive, and retrieval
  • Review and report project metrics to internal customers to benchmark the effectiveness of the specific data management process being followed
  • Manage and balance communications with stakeholders through organized and disciplined processes.
  • Communicate, monitor, and promptly resolve issues across all functional elements between the Suppliers, IT Operations, and other internal organizations.
  • Manage/administer processes through a broad set of skills, toolsets, and government regulations

Some travel to supplier facilities and other Northrop Grumman facilities, may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

Project Manager (Level 2):

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience in project/business management, IT, supply chain, continuous improvement, and/or change management. Or, in lieu of a degree, 7 years of relkevant experience in project/business management, IT, supply chain, continuous improvement, and/or change management.

Principal Project Manager (Level 3):

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant experience in project/business management, IT, supply chain, continuous improvement, and/or change management. Or, in lieu of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience in project/business management, IT, supply chain, continuous improvement, and/or change management or related field

For both Level 2 and 3 positions, basic qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and execution of a large complex program.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams.
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Access)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or Engineering related Discipline
  • Prior work experience in Aerospace & Defense Industry
  • Experience with the following technologies and tools, or similar, a plus: SQL, Sharepoint, Power BI, Tableau, SAP or other large ERP systems. Confluence
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $58,800 USD - $88,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $72,400 USD - $108,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
