Northrop Grumman Space Sector - Tactical Space Systems Division is seeking a Senior Program Manager for a highly visible program to oversee all aspects of program execution to deliver a satellite, integrate payloads, and launch capabilities into operations! The program manager will work closely with NG UK, the joint US / UK capture team, and senior leadership pre award to deliver an executable plan that supports customer schedule, cost, and technical needs. Post award, the program manager will direct all phases of program execution ensuring we have the right staffing, facilities, supply chain, and necessary resources. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with NG UK and NG US capture and leadership teams during capture phase to prepare executable proposal that supports cost, schedule, and technical requirements.

  • Prepares pre award artifacts and represents program in independent cost and execution reviews.

  • Drives alignment of resources (staffing, supply chain, facilities, engineering, manufacturing, and production) during capture and program execution phases.

  • Directs all phases of program from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule, risk and opportunity management, and technical performance.

  • Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.

  • Works with the NG UK PMO to lead program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • Develops and maintains positive engagement with customers, partners and suppliers

  • Leads spacecraft development, external payload procurement and overall assembly, integration and test for final delivery to customer

  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management with 8 years of experience, OR Masters Degree with 6 years of experience.

  • 5 + Years of previous relevant experience working satellite delivery programs for commercial, civil, and / or defense customers

  • Requires knowledge and experience with executing process standards focused on program management, risk management identification and mitigation, schedule management, and cost control.

  • Requires experience on delivering hardware programs from through all phases of the life cycle – requirements, design, development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, test, and fielding.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience – ability to collaborate across multiple functions and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on international programs. Preferably the UK.

  • Experience with US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and export controls.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certifications.

  • Experience with organic and adjacent program growth.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

  • Business Acumen:  The ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance.

  • Communications:  The ability to manage communications with stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that program information is defined, collected, shared, understood, stored and retrieved in a manner that effectively meets program and stakeholder needs.

  • Issue & Problem Resolution:  The ability to identify and address program impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts across all levels of the program.

  • Planning, Scheduling & Earned Value:  Knowledge and experience developing and using integrated master schedules and Earned Value techniques to monitor programs and guide corrective actions as required.


Salary Range: $171,000 USD - $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
