Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Supply Chain Professional to join the Corporate Global Supply Chain organization.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual to act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for the role of Category Management Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist supporting our Corp Global Supply Chain Category Management team in Falls Church, VA (or other NG GSC hub location).  This individual will be in a unique position to be a part of establishing a new team responsible for creating a Direct Charge Category Management Strategy for the Enterprise, to deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies in support of strategic corporate initiatives.

In this role, the successful candidate will help shape and define the Category Management strategy of the Enterprise, execute that strategy, with an initial focus on Hardware Fasteners supporting NG domestic operations.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Use Category Management techniques to include spend analysis, suppler base analysis, supplier relationship management.

  • Analyze spend data to determine commodity opportunities for the Enterprise for current and future categories/commodities

  • Assesses supplier economics, perform analysis, and define strategies to streamline commodities within defined categories.

  • Engage with multiple suppliers, analyze operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required Sector demand.

  • Manage the overall relationship of the suppliers in collaboration with Sector stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Sectors stakeholders to understand their category/commodity demand to determine appropriate alignment of Sourcing requirements and Transactional activities.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Global Procurement Services to establish long term Enterprise Agreements that align with the Category Management strategy.  Activities may include reviewing proposals, support negotiating contracts, or recommending select suppliers

  • Remain informed and compile information related to category/commodity trends

  • Interface and collaborate with Sectors and various functional organizations across the Enterprise

  • Ability to plan, schedule and arrange activities to accomplish objectives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline OR Master’s Degree with 8+ years’ experience in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline

  • Written and oral communication skills up to and including executive levels of management.

  • A proven ability to independently work well under pressure in a dynamic, fast paced environment, balancing multiple tasks, changing requirements/priorities, and multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent analytical problem solving and decision making skills, as well as being a proficient Excel power user.

  • Ability to effectively lead and influence diverse working teams and groups

  • Microsoft Office Suite including MS Teams

  • Must have prior experience supporting supply chain requirements subject to FAR Part 44.3 Contractor’s Purchasing Systems Reviews

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with category and/or commodity management is preferred.

  • Experience with Electronics Components / Hardware Fasteners commodities is preferred.

  • Professional Supplier Certification, and/or Agile Safe certs.

  • Have prior transactional experience as a profession buyer or subcontract manager in a CPSR environment

This position reports to Falls Church, VA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 4 locations listed above.

Salary Range: $94,500 USD - $141,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
