Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for F-35 Mod Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in MCAS Yuma, Arizona and will manage daily aircraft production for NGDS Dept of Navy (DoN) Contract Field Team (CFT) operations.

The F-35 Contract Field Team (CFT) Lead manages all post-delivery Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD) DoN CFT modifications, guides the successful implementation of F-35 modification efforts, and coordinates with CFT members to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and cost compliance. The team lead provides overall technical guidance to CFT technicians and may assist the site manager with personnel and site management tasks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have either a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of aircraft maintenance experience or a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience; or High School/GED and 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience

  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Previous experience as a production superintendent, shop foreman, maintenance control chief or supervisor of teams responsible for multi system aircraft maintenance.

  • Proficient interpreting and analyzing modification engineering drawings and manufacturing/material process specifications.

  • Experience with such programs as Aircraft Scheduling/Records Management, Job/Maintenance Control, Configuration Control, Maintenance Information Systems, Tool and FOD, E-Time Accounting, Training, Safety, Security, Hazardous Waste Management or Supply Chain Management.

  • Must be willing to provide temporarily support to our other CFT locations at: NAS Lemoore, MCAS Miramar, MCAS Cherry Point, or MCAS Beaufort should the need arise

Preferred Qualifications

  • F-35 or 5th generation aircraft MRO&U experience.

  • Minimum Air Force 7 Level or DoN CDI equivalent.

  • Working knowledge of F-35 sustainment tools; Product Data Manager (PDM), JSF Data Library (JDL), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).


Salary Range: $75,400 USD - $113,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
